  INTERVIEW WITH EXCLUSIVE DJ AYBABA

  








     1.  CAN WE KNOW YOU?

Yes sure, am Jimoh Yusuph Ayoola but popularly known as Exclusive Dj Aybaba. I was born and brought up in Alapere Ketu, Lagos State in Nigeria. We are just four in my family including my mum and dad.
I finished my school in Access International school @ Ogun State. Am just going to be  20years old by September.
And also, am attending North American University in Republic of Benin, cotonou, studying computer science. Hopefully to graduate next year.

2. AN INSIGHT INTO PARENTAL BACKGROUND

Actually, my dad was born in Ghana but brought-up in Nigeria. And my grandfather was a citizen of Nigeria but live in Ghana. My father is from Saki, Oyo state.
And my mum is from Ile-Ife, Osun State. But she grew up in Ebute-Meta, Lagos State.

3. WHY DISC JOCKEYS AND WHEN YOU STARTED OFFICIALLY?
Disc jockey is what I have passion for and also I was when I was in JSS3 then, I found a way of lying to my dad that am strolling down to my friends’ house but unknowingly am going to a DJ studio which I didn’t join then, all I do is that I watch them spinning the disc jockey mixer wheels.
Started disc jockey officially in 2009 that was when I really enjoyed both the profession and the income because I haven’t gained admission then into the university.

4. HOW DO FEEL BEEN A DJ
To be sincere with you, I feel so great and excited doing what I have passion for.


5. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE PRESENT STATE OF NIGERIA DJ/MUSIC INDUSTRY?
The present state of Nigeria DJ/music industry has quietly improved and it really having big moves now.




6. WOULD YOU ENCOURAGE OTHER YOUTHS OUT THERE WHO ADMIRES AND ASPIRED TO BE A DJ LIKE YOU TO GO ON WITH IT?
 
Yes sure, what am going to encourage them to do is to is that they should never give up on what they do.


7. WHO IS DJ AND WHAT ARE THE QUALITIES OF A GOOD DJ?
A DJ is someone that makes people happy. And also, DJs are entertainer who makes your party very interesting.
The qualities of a good DJs are self confidence, boldness and able to take people along in such a way that when it comes to understanding several party or occasion.

8. DO YOU THINK THE NIGERIAN DJS ARE GETTING PAID ENOUGH AND WHAT DO YOU THINK SHOULD BE DONE THAT HAS NOT BEEN DONE?
Yes, Nigerian DJs are paid well but mostly the recognised ones’ only. While the upcoming DJs are not really paid well, and also they are not encouraged.
So, I suggest the upcoming DJs should be encouraged and also been paid well.

9. WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT BEEN AN ARTIST TO BECOME DJ?
It’s not easy doing two things and moreover, I preferred doing DJ as profession than been an artist.

10. WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF FIVE YEARS FROM NOW?
I see myself achieving my goals and in great places.  And also, making waves around the world.

11. WHAT SHOULD YOUR FANS EXPECT?
They should be ready for more of my exclusive Jamz and mix tapes and also collaboration with top various different artists with different concept entirely.

12. IF YOU ARE TO BE WELL PAID WITH MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO STOP BEEN A DISC JOCKEY, WOULD YOU?
To be frank with you, there is no one who doesn’t love money, but as a matter of fact it’s my profession and it’s what I have passion for, so am saying NO I can’t stop been a disc jockey and moreover, it what you all know .

13. WHICH OUT OF THIS TWO PAYS OR WOULD YOU PREFER? A STREET /CLUB DJ OR RADIO DJ?
I prefer Club DJ or Radio DJ because it comes in an advance way than been a street DJ. After all, the street DJs are looking forward of moving out the street. Street DJs mostly get names but doesn’t pay in the aspect of moving your DJ career. 

14. HOW DO YOU HOPE TO MAKE A DIFFERENT AS A DJ?
To use my influence to impact knowledge to people as a DJ and also encourage them as an educated DJ too as well.

15. WORD ENCOURAGEMENT TO THOSE ASPIRING TO BE A DJ LIKE YOU AND FINAL WORDS TO YOUR FANS?
Be brave, bold and confidence, and then put more effort in what you are doing?
